Founder and Owner of Ace Maker Aviation. A native Californian, Gregory "Wired" Colyer took his first flight at age 7 in a Cessna 182 with Dr. Lee Schaller out of the Schellville airport in Sonoma, California. Hooked ever since, Greg has been flying for over 4 decades after earning his license in 1982 while serving in the US Army from 1982-1987.
After leaving the service he worked keeping the skies safe for 27 years with the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller at Oakland ARTCC from 1988-2015. His passion for flying never left him as he continued to fly as a hobby and an occasional airshow flying a Beech T-34 Mentor until he imported a Russian L-29 Delfin Jet in 2003. Next up was flying and getting checked out in a L-39. One of his favorite jets as a kid was the Lockheed Shooting Star, America's first operational Jet Fighter and Trainer. In 2007 he flew with his friend Kay Eckhart in one of Kay's T-33's. Having felt like he had been flying it all his life he knew then he had to have one and set his sights on a T-33 of his own, he acquired serial #306 in April of 2008 naming it the "Ace Maker" After extensive training he began flying Airshows at the end of the 2008 season, adding serial #452 Ace Maker II in 2014 and serial #610 Ace Maker III in 2018 To the fleet.
With over 6000 total hours and over 2500 in the T-33. He holds an ATP Pilot certificate with instrument, single and multi engine ratings as well as being a Certified Flight Instructor. Type rated in Aero Vodochody's L-29 Delfin, L-39 Albatros, the Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star, E-175, B-737 and GV ( G550 ) A unrestricted level I SAC (Statement of aerobatic competency) for Solo aerobatics, Dog Fight, Night shows and Formation aerobatics round out his qualification. In addition to airshows Greg instructed at Edwards AFB Test Pilot School and currently at the USNTPS at NAS Patuxent River MD. Greg is a multi time Ironman and spends his free time when not around airplanes cycling and enjoying Motorcycles.

Joining the Team in 2018 flying as a solo demo pilot. When Greg was asked to create a 2 ship Demo Team in 2021 He turned to Scratch who was instrumental in creating the 2 ship Ace Maker Demonstration. With his vast expertise and mentorship to Greg the Ace Maker 2 ship demo debuted at the Pacific Airshow in 2022 to a huge success. "Scratch" Is a third generation fighter pilot. He brings an impressive resume to Ace Maker Aviation. It includes CF-18 Fighter pilot, CF-18 Solo Demo pilot, #7 Snowbirds, #1 Snowbird Boss, The Patriot Jet Team, along with a corpate and Airline back ground. Besides his vast aviation background Scratch is a producer and actor. He will be running the Aerial Filming division. More to follow as we up date the the site soon!
Tim started flying gliders when he was 15 and held his first pilots certificate before his drivers license.
He started flying in Traben-Trarbach, Germany, next to Hahn Airforce-Base. Chuck Yeager was a member his flying club in the late 50’s.
Taking a little detour flying skydivers for a few years, he got into the airlines and flew B737s for Lufthansa with 24 and got into aerobatics shortly after that. He participated in many Competitions from 2004-2017 in variuos type of aerobatic aircraft, up to unlimeted Level.
Getting typed in the T33 in 2011 Tim and Greg met and became good friends. He built up time in the Tbird over the years when on layover's in the US with Greg and got ICAS-SAC card in 2017. Then he flew his first show for Greg after he broke his collar bone.
Besides flying shows for Greg in the Tbird, Tim flys many overseas airshows in China in a 4-Ship formation aerobatic team in Sbach/XA42.
Tim is also rated in helicopters, floatplanes and flew 2 summers in Alaska flying Bushplanes. Now Tim is a Captain on Airbus A320 and he flew more than 100 different type of aircraft over the years.
